All Players need to have all paperwork and administrative items taken care off and handed in before the first practice.
1) If you have not done so please apply for admissions at the college asap. See www.wwcc.wy.edu/admissions/registra.htm this takes about 10 - 15 minutes.
2) If you have not done so please apply for housing on campus. See www.wwcc.wy.edu/housing/ and please inform them that you are a member of the men's soccer team there should be rooms reserved for you.
3) Send in your housing deposit of $150.00. The sooner this is done the better. You can even send it in via the telephone at 307-382 - 1845.
4) Complete the FAFSA this is found at www.fafsa.ed.gov/ (this is for players receiving any financial aid and are US citizens) WWCC cannot award any federal money (scholarships) until this is completed.
5) If you have not already done so sign and return 1 copy of your National Letter of Intent and your WWCC Letter of Intent. This is of course for those who are receiving a scholarship for soccer, all walk-ons need not worry about this step. If your NLI has not yet arrived it will soon please either call me or the WWCC financial aid office for updates on the Letter of Intent.
6) For all new students WWCC you need to attend a new student orientation and advising. The dates and times for this summer are; June 22nd at 1pm or 6pm, July 9th at 6pm, July 20th at 1pm or 6pm, July 28th at 1pm, August 12th at 1pm or 6 pm, and August 24th at 1pm. When you decide which best fits your schedule please registrar at www.wwcc.wy.edu/advising/notice.htm Also realize you will already be on campus for the August 12th and August 24th dates so those would work well for you. Also when everything is done please inform me when you are coming so I can meet you on campus.
7) Physicals will again be taken care of my the athlete before the first practice. In the next 2 - 4 weeks you will receive a packet from the WWCC athletic department with your insurance and physical examination forms. Please use the physical form from WWCC and please fill-out and send back in your insurance information as soon as possible.
8) When you register for classes this fall please realize that all practices when school starts will be from 4:00pm to 6:00pm so try not to schedule classes/labs during those times.
9) As of right now we are planning on having everyone move in on Wednesday August 12th with our first practice being the night on the 12th. Things sometimes change due to the availability of dorms etc...
10) Please send your final official high school and any official college transcripts to WWCC as soon as they are available. This is very important, the transcripts need to be cleared for you to be eligible to play in the fall.
11) See link to the right entitled Summer Workouts to see what you should be doing every day this summer to stay fit. We will have a fitness test on the first day this fall and if you are not fit it will show and it could effect your playing time.
12) I am getting ready to release the information about our 2009 recruiting class. If you could do the following for me:
E-mail me the following information if possible at jatkinso@wwcc.wy.edu
a) An action photo of you playing soccer
b) Any on the field honors you received - all-state, all-conference, team MVP, team captain ...
c) Any other information about yourself that you would like me to release to the press. Feel free to brag yourself up, you are playing college soccer so be proud of what you have accomplished.
13) Also we are in need of a few players to walk-on to the team to fill out our roster at 25 players. If you know of anyone who just wants to go to school and play on the team get them in contact with me as soon as possible.
