Mustangs Let a Win Slip Away

On Saturday in Rock Springs the WWCC Mustangs hosted the Rocky Mountain Rivals, a college development team out of Provo UT. On a day with record breaking heat the Mustangs got on the board first in their third and last scrimmage of the season. Braxton Hamilton headed in a great served ball from Mika Goodman with only over a minute gone in the match. The Mustangs added their second goal in the 44th minute when Joe Lake scored off of a nice Omar Jaimes assist. The Mustangs lead the Rivals 2 - 0 at the break.
The Rivals played better in the second half and the Mustangs seemed to be missing any kind of a spark to help put away the opposition. The Rivals cut the lead in half in the 70th minute scoring on a one on one opportunity. With just five minutes left in the scrimmage the Rivals tied the match scoring on another 1 v 1 chance. Both teams played a good match with limited subs on such a hot day.

Up Next For the Mustangs: Friday 8/28 at CC of Spokane (Spokane WA) at 2pm (Pacific Time) - First Official Game of the Season

Workhorse of the Match - Braxton Hamilton - 1 goal (scored in 1:12 - and a spark of offense the entire game)
