On Wednesday in Rock Springs the Mustangs hosted their oldest rival in Region IX - the LCCC Golden Eagles.Again the Mustangs put themselves into a hole when they allowed goals from the opposition early. LCCC scored in the 5th and in the 8th minute. There were no other goals in the opening half of play and the score was LCCC 2 and WWCC 0.
In the second half Western took some chances to try to get on the board and exposed some of their backline. LCCC scored goals in the 50th and 55th minute to take a 4 goal lead. In the 57th minute Josh Crew stole a pass from a LCCC defender towards his keeper and easily slotted the ball past the keeper. The lone goal from WWCC was not enough and LCCC added a 5th goal in the 67th minute of play. The final score was LCCC 5 and WWCC 1. The loss today eliminated Western Wyo from post season play. It also drops the 2018 overall record to 0 - 14 - 0 and 0 - 7 - 0 in Region IX North play.
Mustang Man of the Match: Josh Crew - Josh scored the lone goal for the Mustangs and added lots of pressure up top for Western.
