Western Wyoming Ends 2018 Season with Loss at NWC

On Wednesday in Powell Wyoming the Mustangs played against the Trappers of Northwest College.

The Mustangs played well in their previous two matches but they did not have the same intensity or style of play on this day.  The Trappers scored three times in the first half with the NWC goals coming in the 23rd, 33rd and 39th minutes.  The halftime score was NWC 3 and WWCC 0.

Western Wyoming made some halftime adjustments but still could not seem to mount much of an attack or stop the Trappers from finding the ball in dangerous positions.  NWC added two more goals in the 49th and 61st minute of play to take a commanding 5 goal lead.  The Mustangs would not give up and continued to play hard until the final whistle.  With just seconds left WWCC took a free kick by Gunner Erickson and Justin Pfeil flicked into the back of the net.  The final score was NWC 5 and WWCC 1.  Western's overall 2018 record will end at 1 - 16 - 0 and their Region IX North match 0 - 4 - 0.

Mustang Man of the Match: Justin Pfeil - Justin scored the lone WWCC goal and was part of the group that would not quit fighting and playing for the Mustangs.
