Scrimmage Season Over for Mustangs

At the Boise Soccer Club in Boise Idaho WWCC faced off against the Yotes of the College of Idaho in the Mustang’s 4th and final scrimmage of the 2011 season. The College of Idaho is a 4-year NAIA school. The weather was quite a bit cooler from the day before but the Mustangs still continued to play some great soccer. The scoring for the scrimmage started when a C of I player dummied a ball and another Yote ran onto the ball and beat Cory Thibeault for a goal in the 26th minute. WWCC equalized the match in the 39th minute when Taylor Egbert sent a pass to Andrew Newbold who then blasted it past the C of I keeper. This was Andrew’s second goal during the exhibition season. The score remained tied at the half 1 – 1. WWCC continued to play well but struggled to finish very many of their chances. All of the scoring in the second half was from the Yotes. Their second goal came in the 47th minute when a pass come centered from a sideline and was placed well by the WWCC keeper Luis Trevisan. The final goal of the scrimmage was also from the Yotes in the 65th minute from a long shot of about 25 yards out again beat the WWCC keeper. The Mustangs continued to fight and string many passes together as they advanced the ball down the field towards the C of I goal. The whistle blew with the final scrimmage score 3 – 1.
