On Saturday May 4th, Dallin Taggart came to the Rock Springs campus of Western Wyoming Community College to sign his National Letter of Intent to play men's soccer for the Mustangs. Dallin is a senior at Woods Cross High School in North Salt Lake City Utah. Dallin plays as a defender, primarily as a center back, and as a forward. Dallin is a tall, athletic player that we think has a ton of potential and a lot of talent right now. We are still unsure if Dallin will play more as a forward, midfield or defender. His size and presence on the field would lend you to believe that a center back is his best position. However we also like his discipline, hustle and passing and we could see him also find time for the Mustangs as a center back. He does have good speed and is able to provide a scoring threat and could also thrive as a forward. Currently his high school team as been moving him from the back line and the forward position as needed by his team. He played club soccer for Forza, USA and Olympique Montreux. No matter where he plays on the pitch WWCC will get a talent and a competitor worthy of the red, black and white.
We feel so privileged to have such a fine young man and soccer player choose Western and provide us with more talent and quality on and off of the pitch. Dallin is shown in the top left winning a header, middle left taking a ball out of the air.
