Tough Way to End WWCC's Best Season

On Saturday the Western Wyoming Mustangs played against the Trojans of Trinidad State Junior College.  This match-up was possibly the worst match-up for the host Mustangs as Trinidad was the only team from the south that the Mustangs did not beat during the 2015 season.  They previous two matches resulted in two overtime matches and a draw and a loss for the Mustangs.

Much like the second match that the two teams played TSJC come out fast and set the tone for the match.  Just when the Mustangs felt like they had taken the best shot from TSJC they scored in the 21st minute.  The Mustangs had chances in the first half but they either missed or were saved by the TSJC keeper.  The halftime score was Trojans 1 - Mustangs 0.

With the wind at their backs the Mustangs mounted a furious offensive attack.  Western even switched to 3 forwards for much of the second half and none of the superb forwards for the Mustangs could find the answer to the Trojan defense and keeper.  At the end of 90 minutes the final score was 1 - 0 in favor of the visiting TSJC Trojans.

The loss ended the Mustang season in the Region IX quarterfinals.  The overall record for the Mustangs is 12 - 5 - 3.  It was not the ending that the Mustangs were anticipating for the season but it was a wonderful and record breaking season.
Mustang Man of the Match:  Devin Moore - what a wonderful match for him and an amazing career.
