First Scrimmage In the Books

On Tuesday in Taylorsville UT, the WWCC Mustangs faced off against the Salt Lake Community College Bruins in a soccer scrimmage.
The match saw the Mustangs control the opening minutes of the match but lose the majority of the possession as time went on in the first half. SLCC scored the first two goals of the scrimmage in the 26th and 28th minute of the match. The Mustangs countered in the 43rd minute as Joe Lake scored off of an assist from Kyle Seljaas, making the score 2 to 1. However the Mustangs could not keep the Bruins off of the scoreboard as the Bruins scored again in the final minute of the first half to take a commanding 3 to 1 lead into half time.
In the second half the Mustangs made some good adjustments and played with more intensity. But the Bruins scored the next goal in the 58th minute taking a 4 to 1 lead with just over 30 minutes left in the scrimmage. The Mustangs scored twice more before the end of the match, to make the scoreline much closer. Omar Jaimes scored both goals for the Mustangs in the 70th and 90th minute. Omar's first goal was assisted by Joe Lake and his second goal was assisted by Chris Byers off of a corner kick.
