LCCC soars over WWCC

On Friday in Rock Springs, Western Wyoming and their oldest rival Laramie County squared off in a Region IX match. Western Wyoming was coming off of a 2 day road trip and 2 losses. The match started well for WWCC as it seemed the match was pretty even in the first 10 minutes, however the match changed in the 13th minute when LCCC found a seam in the WWCC defense and scored. LCCC added 3 more goals in the first half, the scoring was in the 29th, 43rd and 45th minute. The WWCC defense seemed to be giving up easy goals right up the middle of the field. The halftime score was LCCC 4 - WWCC 0.

Once again the Mustangs seemed to regroup at halftime but the match was already too far out of their reach on that day. LCCC added their last goal in the 52nd minute and held a 5 to 0 lead for more than 10 minutes. WWCC finally got on the board when Gilbert Gonzalez crossed a ball into the box and Braxton Hamilton was able to get the ball into the net. Cody Rall was also key in this scoring play as he used his big body to clear space for Braxton. WWCC's first goal was in the 66th minute. The second and last goal of the match for WWCC was from Miguel Maca in the 79th minute shooting a long distance shot over the LCCC keeper in the top right corner. Miguel was assisted by Gilbert Gonzalez on his goal. The final score stood at LCCC 5 - WWCC 2.
