Mustangs Drop Another Region Match

On Tuesday in Powell WY, Western Wyoming and Northwest played for the second time this season. The first match in Rock Springs resulted in a draw for both teams.

The Mustangs played the entire match with renewed vigor and dedication. The played much better than in the previous three matches throughout the entire 90 minutes. The Trappers were awarded a penalty kick in the 15th minute but WWCC keeper Taylor Whetman blocked the penalty kick with a diving save to the bottom right corner. The Trappers scored twice in the first half when their player used some nifty moves on both scoring occasions in the 37th and 39th minute. The halftime score was Northwest 2 and Western 0.

Like most of the season the Mustangs played better in the second half. Northwest did score first in the second half in the 61st minute on a very disputed offsides that was not called. On the ensuing kick off WWCC player Mika Goodman took a chance to shot off of the kick off and scored when the ball soared over the Northwest keeper. The half field shot in the 62nd minute was the final score for either team and the score ended at Northwest 3 and Western 1.
