Utes Beat Up the Mustangs

On Saturday on the campus of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City UT the Utes and the Mustangs played. The Utes looked bigger, faster and more organized throughout the entire match. The Utes scored first in the 9th minute off of a free kick from around 22 yards out. The Mustang's defense had trouble at the start of the match dropping and stopping the Utes from successfully getting behind their back line. The Utes scored twice off of this weakness in the 15th and 17th minute. The score held at halftime Utah 3, WWCC 0. The Mustangs were not able to get a consistent attack going as they could not keep possession or could not string many passes together.
In the second half the Mustangs came out and played a little better. They tried to use the corners of the offensive half and matched the Utes in physicality. The Utes added 2 more goals in the second half, the first in the 59th minute that was ruled an own goal and the final goal in the 73rd minute. WWCC still could not muster any consistent pressure on the Ute's goalkeeper. The final score of the match was Utah 5, WWCC 0.
