In the second half the Mustangs were able to extend their lead while getting all players into the match and working on their possession. The lead was increased to 4 goals in the 68th minute when Taylor Egbert scored off an Ashenafi Negeri assist. Taylor's goal was his ninth of the season and is leading the team. Taylor beat the keeper with a nice little chip on the left side of the goal. In the 73rd minute the Mustangs were called for a penalty in the box and WNCC stepped up to take the penalty kick. Mitch Jensen, the WWCC keeper denied the shot and the follow up. This was Mitch's second penalty faced this season and he has saved both attempts. The final Mustang goal came from Steven Shelley who just out touched the WNCC keeper after a Jarom Stuart header. This was Shelley's third goal of the match and the second hat-trick of the WWCC season. WNCC did score one goal in the 87th minute to ruin the Mustang shutout and get the Cougars on the board. The final score was WWCC 5 and WNCC 1.
