On Saturday in Rock Springs the Mustangs played their second Region IX match in as many days. Trinidad State Junior College Trojans a second year program from Trinidad Colorado. The Trojans dominated the majority of the play at the beginning of the match. They found the first goal when TSJC sent a high ball towards the back post and scored a header that snuck right under the crossbar. The match changed for the worst when in the 31st minute a red card was issued to Nate Pierce of the Mustangs and WWCC played the last 59 minutes of the match down a match. The halftime score was 1 - 0 in favor of the Trojans.
Not much changed in the match in the second half due to the Mustangs playing down a man. TSJC scored in the 50th minute when a ball squeaked past the WWCC wall and a Trojan bicycle kicked the ball. Taylor West, the Mustang keeper, was able to get his hand on the shot but it found the back of the net for a 2 - 0 Trojan lead. The lead remained the same for the remaining minutes of the match. The loss brings the Mustang record down to 5 - 3 - 0 overall and a 1 - 1 - 0 Region IX mark. Mustang Man of the Match – Zach Plitt - Zach played the majority of the match and did so very consistently. Zach played in the defense and the midfield.
