BYU Scrimmage Kicks-Off the 2015 Spring Scrimmage Season

On Saturday February 21st the Western Wyoming Mustangs traveled to Provo Utah for a spring scrimmage against the BYU Cougars.  BYU is a PDL team, the lowest professional level of soccer in the United States.  The match was played in the Indoor Practice Facility on the campus of BYU in Provo.  Western played very tough and showed a lot of skill and teamwork but was outmatched by the Cougars.  The final score was 6 - 0 in favor of BYU.  The Cougars made the Mustangs pay for every mistake they made in the defensive third of the field and limited the Mustangs to few opportunities towards the BYU goal.  Both teams have fairly good size squads this spring and played an additional half with those players who had not yet seen action on the day.  Overall it was a great opportunity for the Mustangs and we appreciate BYU hosting us again and wish them luck on their PDL season and the US Open Cup this year.
