Western Shuts-out Sheridan for the Win

The Mustangs returned to Rock Springs after their trip to Snow College in midweek to face the Sheridan College Generals in another Region IX North match.

Sheridan College did not get as good of a start against the Mustangs as they did in the team's first match up.  WWCC played better defense but had a difficult mustering much offense.   The match was tied with no scoring in the first half.

After the halftime break the Mustangs scored in the 65th minute when Danny Becerra crossed the ball into the Sheridan box and Josh Abplanalp headed the ball past the keeper and for the lone goal of the match.  The WWCC defense lead by Keeper Benji Ayala continued to stop any true type of attack from the Generals and the Mustangs hung onto the 1 to 0 lead for the win.  The record for the Mustangs is now 6 - 5 - 1 and 4 - 1 - 0 in Region IX North.
