Colby Hendrickson joins WWCC Soccer

Colby Hendrickson from Preston Idaho and Preston High School has signed a National Letter of Intent to play college soccer for the Mustangs of Western Wyoming Community College.

Colby was a 2014 graduate of Preston High, since his high school graduation Hendrickson served an LDS mission to Chicago IL.  He has also started his post secondary education through Utah State University.  Colby plans on majoring in Business while at WWCC.

Hendrickson plays in the midfield.  He generally plays as a defensive mid. He attended a tryout on the WWCC campus during the winter months and impressed many with his fluidity in passing and movement.  His vision to find passes and to keep possession are also attributes that make Colby one of the main targets of the 2017 WWCC midfield recruits.

After his senior year of high school Colby was voted to the 2014 Herald Journal All-Valley 1st Team as a midfielder.  Preston High head coach Robert Bowles said "Colby was the heart of our team, he wasn’t the biggest player, but he controls the midfield and he wasn’t afraid to go up against people bigger or stronger than him. He was fierce in his defending, he was smart in his passing and everything pretty much went through Colby. And because he sat a little deeper, he didn’t get the assists.”  Hendrickson, however, did rack up eight assists as a senior.

Western is excited to have such an accomplished young man and soccer player join the ranks of Western Wyoming.  Colby was a high school teammate of former WWCC soccer player Adam Stocks and  recently re-signed Zac Roper.
