Ryan Arevalo 1st to Sign with WWCC 2018 Soccer

Ryan Arevalo from South Ogden UT and a soon to be graduate from Layton Christian Academy in Layton UT has signed his National Letter of Intent to play Men's Soccer at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs WY.

Ryan is a good student and will graduate high school with high academic honors.  Arevalo will enter WWCC with several college credit which he took from Weber State while are LCA.

Since his freshman year at LCA, Ryan has been a starter on the varsity soccer team and considers himself an all around field player.  He has also played comp soccer since his sixth grade year.  Arevalo played for both Surf and Forza.  With his comp teams Ryan and teammates have won multiple championships.

During his junior year at LCA Ryan scored 4 goals.  Two of his goals were during the Utah 2A state tournament.  He scored in the semifinal match and Ryan scored the only and winning goal in the 2017 Utah 2A state championship match.

Ryan came to the Western Wyoming campus in the fall and had a great individual tryout.  He showed a lot of potential to translate his game to the next level and be able to contribute right away to the WWCC program as a freshman.

We anticipate Ryan to play during his Mustang career in the midfield.  He possesses good vision and creativity.  Ryan could be used in the attacking mid role or as an outside midfielder.  He also has the skill sets necessary to even help out as a forward or even as an outside defender.

Arevalo continues a WWCC soccer family tradition as his sister Jessica recently completed her second year of eligibility as a Mustang.

Congratulation to Ryan on becoming a Western Wyoming Mustang and good luck to him and his LCA teammates as they defend their 2A State Soccer crown this spring.
