Kalen Kester a Mustang for 2018

Kalen Kester a 2017 graduate from Green River High School in Green River Wyoming has signed a National Letter of Intent to play college soccer at Western Wyoming Community College.

Kester come to WWCC with a storied athletic and soccer past.  Kalen was a great athlete for the Wolves during his time suiting up for GRHS.  Besides being a soccer player he also was a standout for the indoor track team.  In 2017, Kalen placed 3rd at the WHSAA State Indoor meet in the 55 meter dash and 3rd in the Long Jump.

On the soccer pitch Kalen was a regular in the varsity starting lineup throughout his final 3 years at GRHS.  While playing for the Wolves Kester helped his team to earn two 3rd place regular season finishes and a 1st place regular season finish.  He and the Wolves placed 3rd at the 4A West Regional Tournament twice and were also the 2016 4A West Regional Tournament Champs.  Kalen and the Wolves placed 4th and 6th at the WHSAA 4A State Soccer tournament during his career.  After his junior year Kalen was named 1st Team 4A West All Conference and 2nd Team 4A All State.  As part of the GRHS team he was part of the defense that only allowed 18 goals on the season the second best in the state that year.  After his senior year Kalen was again named 1st Team 4A West All Conference along with being named 1st Team 4A All State.

Kalen is a natural defender.  He played most of his high school career as a center back.  At Western, we know that he could use his speed and athletic ability to help out the Mustang back line.  Kester enrolled as a student at Western in the spring semester of 2018.  Kalen went through spring practices with the WWCC team in 2018 and showed a lot of potential to use his talents to be an outside back for the Mustangs.  We know that Kalen will use his skills to help out his team and teammates at whatever position he is needed for the team.
