Western Wyo Wins Versus WNCC Cougars

On Friday in Rock Springs the Mustangs hosted the Cougars from Western Nebraska Community College.  WNCC is the second oldest rival for the Mustangs, the two teams have been playing each other since 2006.

The Mustangs finally clicked together in all aspects of the game.  WWCC scored first in the match when Beamer Wilcken hit a great 20 yard shot in the 18th minute off of a Jaymin Carroll assist.  The goals kept on coming for Western Wyo when Beamer Wilcken scored his brace in the 38th minute off of another Jaymin Carroll assist.  Right before halftime WWCC added a third goal when Josh Rawson headed in a corner kick from Kayden Freeland in the 45th minute.  The halftime score was WWCC 3 and Western Nebraska 0.

Western Wyo played a solid second half of the match including some big time saves from Nic Kautzman in goal.  The final score on the day was Western Wyo 3 and Western NE 0.  This first win of the season helps improve the Western 2018 record to 1 - 14 - 0.
