2018 Offensive MVP Back for WWCC - Colton Mathys

Colton Mathys who had a wonderful freshman campaign playing for the Mustang soccer team will return to play his second year of eligibility at WWCC.  For his efforts he was named the team Offensive MVP for the season as voted on by his peers.

Mathys is a 2018 graduate from Mt. Crest High in Hyrum Utah.  Colton played mainly as an outside midfielder for Western but can fill in for an outside back and as a forward also.  During the fall 2018 season Colton had; 6 Shots, 3 Goals, 1 Foul, 9 Starts and 39 Halves Played.

In the spring scrimmage season of 2019 Colton continued to improve with his spacing off of the ball and learning how to hold the ball in the offensive possession.  Colton had an assist during one of our 2019 spring scrimmages.

Colton added some muscle to to his frame during the off season through his dedication to his fitness and his work in the weight room.

Mathys was also named to the Academic All Region team which means his GPA for the year was above a 3.25.  He is on track to earn his diploma from Western in the spring of 2020.

Western expects Colton to be a force to be reckoned with on and off of the field this fall.  Welcome back Colton.
