Record Day for Mustangs versus Idaho State

On Saturday on the turf field at Rock Springs Junior High in Rock Springs WY the WWCC Mustangs played against the Idaho State Bengals Club team.  It was evident shortly into the match that WWCC was more skilled than the visiting Bengals.  The scoreboard would also show that.  The scoring started in the 3rd minute when Taylor Egbert scores his first assisted by Steven Shelley.  Just 4 minutes later in the 7th minute Egbert scored again with another assist credited to Steven Shelley.  In the 16th minute, Jarom Stuart scored another goal for WWCC with a Taylor Egbert assist.  Greg Howard continued the scoring in the 21st minute, the Howard tally made it 4 - 0 about half way through the 1st half.  In the 23rd minute Richard Harris scored for WWCC.  In another 3 minutes in the 26th minute of the match Jose Rangel scored his first goal as a WWCC Mustang off of a great Jared Jess cross.  The 7th goal of the first half was from Nate Cutler in the 39th minute.  Derek Smith scored his first goal of the season and as a Mustang in the 42nd minute off of an assist by Brandon Bushman.  The scoring finally stopped in the first half when DJ Searcy also got his first goal of the season and as a Mustang in the 45th minute off of another Brandon Bushman assist.  The halftime score was 9 - 0 in favor of the Mustangs.
The second half was much of the same for the offense of the Mustangs.  The Bengals were very outmatched and outrun much of the match by the fast paced and driven Mustang offense.  The scoring continued in the second half when Steven Shelly scored a goal with an assist coming to Taylor Egbert.  The Shelley goal first deflected off of the post and hit the ISU keeper in the back and into the net.  Taylor Egbert completed his hat trick in the 52nd minute from a Steven Shelley assist.  Ten minutes later in the 62nd minute Jarom Stuart scored his second goal of the match off of Steven Shelley's 4th assist of the match.  The next two goals were scored by Mitch Jensen for WWCC.  Mitch Jensen usually plays a keeper for the Mustangs.  Mitch scored in the 80th minute and again in the 84th minute, his goals were assisted by Greg Howard and Jared Jess.  The final and 15th goal of the match was from Ashenafi Negeri in the 86th minute, Negeri's goal was unassisted.  The 15 goals is the most ever scored by WWCC.  15 goals is also the largest margin of victory for WWCC.  11 different players scored for WWCC today.
