Bernard Manuel will return to Western Wyoming Community College for his sophomore year. Bernie was a 2012 graduate from Elko High School in Elko NV. Bernie played well as a freshman. Bernie mainly played as an outside midfielder notching; 24 Shots, 4 Goals, 1 Assist, 8 Fouls, 9 Starts and 51 Halves Played. He possesses outstanding speed and a left foot that rivals any in Region IX.
Bernie had a wonderful spring scrimmage and practice season. This spring Bernie scored 5 goals and had 2 assists in 4 scrimmages. Bernie showed great improvement and was primarily used as a forward this spring.
We at Western expect a lot out of Bernie this fall and spring both in the classroom and on the pitch. He is a good example and leader to his teammates. And we are hoping that he can double his goal total from last year as he uses his speed and skill to stretch and terrify defenses.
