The first half was controlled by the Mustangs who possessed the ball more and created more chances. However, the Blue Knights scored on their first and only good chance in the first half in the 6th minute. The ball was switched from the far side of the field to the near side and the DCTC player beat the WWCC keeper Austin Pinter to the near post. The Mustangs created chances before the DCTC goal and after, the chances were taken by Carsen Tinker, Andrew Newbold, Brock Mosier, Riley Gibson and Taylor Flitton. The half time score was 1 - 0 in favor of Dakota County.

Mustang Man of the Match - Colton Cottrell - Colton played a full 90 minutes. Cottrell played well, organized his defense and communicated well with his teammates on the field.
