On Friday evening on a hot late summer day the Mustangs played against the Weber State Wildcats University Club team in Ogden UT.
The action as always between the two teams was fast, furious and intense. The Mustangs absorbed a lot of the Wildcat attack in the 1st half with very few real opportunities for Weber. The Mustangs did generate some offense but not a lot. One of their best chances came when Justin Gordon was fouled and Taylor Flitton put the free kick on frame and forced a save from Weber's keeper. The halftime score was 0 - 0.
The second half was better for the Mustang attack as they got on the board first scoring in the 59th minute off of Alan Wendlandt's foot. The goal was assisted by Riley Gibson. The Mustang lead only lasted 9 minutes as Weber tied the match with a goal of their own. The score would remain tied for the remaining time on the clock. The match was a draw and the first time the Mustangs had a positive result against Weber in Ogden. The draw bring the Mustang record to 1 - 0 - 2 on the season.
Mustang Man of the Match: Alan Wendlandt for outstanding play and a goal for the Mustangs.
