Western Gets 2nd Region IX Road Win

Playing at Scottsbluff NE in a midweek match the Western Wyoming Mustangs played against their second oldest rival the Western Nebraska Cougars.

In the first half the Cougars seemed to have more offensive punch on the day but Mitch Jensen and the Mustang defense did not allow them to get near the back of the net.  The score at halftime was 0 - 0.

The Mustangs made a few adjustments in the halftime break and played much more offense in the second half.  The break through happened in the 65th minute when Jesse Cardenas assisted Alex Sorenson who scored on the WNCC keeper.  The lone goal of the match was enough to win for the Mustangs on the day.  This is the 3rd shutout of the season for the Mustang defense and keepers.  The Mustang's record is 6 - 2 - 3.
