Shutout Streak Continues with Win Against Central NE

On a cold and rainy day in Rock Springs the Mustangs went against the Raiders from Central Community College from Columbus NE.

The Raiders are a Region IX South team.  CCC played with many players behind the ball and looked for quick counter attacking opportunities.  The Mustangs had a lot of the possession in the first half but not a lot of chances on goal.  The halftime score was 0 - 0.

After the break the Western team continued to keep possession but found more chances in front of goal and slowed down the Raider counter attack.  The goal break through happened in the 75th minute when Alex Sorenson assisted Jose Rincon who used the wet ball and field to squeeze the ball between the keeper's hands and legs for a score.  Jesse Cardenas added an insurance goal in the 88th minute when Jose Rincon took a shot that rebounded to Jesse.  The final score was 2 - 0.  The Region win brings the Mustangs record to 9 - 2 - 3.

Mustang Man of the Match:  Braden Smith - for solid play and on the field leadership.
