On Saturday in Rock Springs Western played against the Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen from Sterling CO.
A Jesse Cardenas early goal in the 7th minute would be all that the Mustangs needed on the day. The goal was assisted by Jose Rincon. The Cardenas goal was the only score in the half as the Mustangs took a 1 - 0 score into intermission.
The Mustang offense scored six goals in the second half to bury the Plainsmen and win by a score of 7 - 0 . The goals were scored by; Nate Cutler, assisted from Taylor Flitton, Jesse Cardenas who was double assisted by Jake Samsel and Taylor Flitton, Grayson Barnes who put in a pass from Jake Samsel, Jake Samsel off of a nifty pass from Conner Cutler, Alex Sorenson from a flick on by Justin Gordon and Jose Rincon who finished off the scoring unassisted. Both Mitch Jensen and Austin Pinter saw action in the match and shared the shutout on the day. The shutout was the Mustangs 5th in a row. The Mustang record improves to 10 - 2 - 3 on the season.
Mustang Man of the Match: Jesse Cardenas - had a brace on the day and started off the scoring.
