Tanner Trumble a Green River WY resident and a Green River High 2015 graduate will again be a member of the Western Wyoming Community College team. Tanner had an exceptional year for the Mustangs during the 2015-2016 season.
As a freshman Tanner had; 10 Shots, 1 Goal, 1 Assist, 8 Fouls, 20 Starts and 40 Halves Played. Tanner started and played in every match of his freshmen year besides two matches in late August that he sat out while recovering from and injury. Trumble played primarily as a center defensive midfielder and did a lot of the defensive cover for the team in the midfield. Tanner sacrificed a lot of personal stats to help out for the team's success. He was nominated from Western for an All Region Player, one of only a few freshmen that Western nominated. Tanner also did a great job in the classroom earning a 4.0 GPA and receiving an Academic All Conference award.
The 2016 spring scrimmage season was good for the overall growth of Tanner. he has grown into one of the leaders of the team and well respected by his teammates and his coaches. Tanner not only played this spring as a defensive midfielder but also as a center back. We has a key part of shutouts for Western against University of Utah Club, Westminster and Utah Valley Club.
For his second stint in the Red, Black and White we expect Tanner to be an amazing player and leader for the young 2016 Mustangs. Trumble should be able to get looks at playing in the midfield both as an attacking and a defensive player. Tanner might also be used to pair up with Braden Smith in the center of the back line and strengthen the WWCC defense. Go get 'em this fall Tanner and help the Mustang Tradition of winning soccer continue.
