Getting their first action as Mustangs were; Benji Ayala - Keeper, McKay Rodabough - Defense, Ben Kunz - Defense, Josh Abplanalp - Forward, Danny Becerra - Defense, Diego Coronado - Defense, Carlos Gonzalez - Midfield, Victor Gonzalez - Forward, Briston Lowell - Forward, Camen Gray - Midfield, Chad Allgaeir - Midfield, Mike Wolken - Defense, Brett Thatcher - Defense, Kota Freeland - Midfield, Matthew Ochoa - Defense, Kyle Tilley - Midfield, Ty Nielsen - Midfield and Trevor Rogers - Keeper. Starting off their sophomore campaigns were; Kyle Mivshek - Keeper, Braden Smith - Defense, Seth Romsa - Forward, Tanner Trumble - Midfield and Grayson Barnes - Midfield.
The scoring actually started with the Alumni when Devin King found net early in the 1st half. Josh Abplanalp scored minutes later with an assist from Seth Romsa. Briston Lowell added three first half goals, assisted by McKay Rodabough and Chad Allgaier. McKay Rodabough also hit a great long range screamer in the first 45 minutes. The half time score was 5 to 1 in favor of the Mustangs.
The second half was again started with an alumni goal after a penalty shot kick hot the bar and Piero Levano re-directed the ricochet into the net for the second goal of the alumni. The momentum for the alumni would not last long as more goals came from the Mustangs in the second half. Goals in the second half came from Seth Romsa, Carlos Gonzalez, Josh Abplanalp and two from Ty Nieslen. Mike Wolken was credited with an assist. The final score to the friendly scrimmage was 11 - 2 in favor of the 2016 Mustangs.
