On Tuesday in Ephraim UT the Western Wyoming Mustangs played a geographic rival from Region 18 in the Snow College Badgers.
The start of the match was much like the first time these two teams played earlier in the year with Snow dominating play and possession. Benji Ayala at keeper and the WWCC defense kept Snow off of the scoreboard in the first half and at the break it was a 0 to 0 draw.
In the second half the Mustangs started to dominate the midfield and put a lot of pressure on the Snow back line and keeper. Unfortunately for WWCC they were left open for quick counter attacks by Snow College up the middle of the pitch. Snow scored first in the match in the 61st minute from a long ball sent right up the middle of the field. WWCC scored in the 76th minute to tie the match. McKay Rodabaugh was the goal scorer after he received the ball on the left side of the field and perfectly placed the ball over the keeper's reach and into the back on the net from about 25 yards out. Even with all of the shots and possession in the match Snow found the winning goal in the 86th minute from another long ball down the middle of the pitch. The final score was 2 to 1 in favor of the Badgers. The Mustang's record is now 5 - 5 - 1 on the season.
Mustang Man of the Match: Chad Allgaeir - making the midfield be potent in the attack while still being sound defensively.
