LCCC Hands Western First Region IX North Loss of Season

On Saturday WWCC faced off against their oldest and most bitter rivals the LCCC Golden Eagles.  It was a cold and wet early afternoon match for the Mustangs less than 24 hours since they defeated the WNCC Cougars.

The first 15 minutes or so were fairly even between the top two teams in the Region IX North.  LCCC started the scoring with a goal in the 19th minute.  The Mustangs seemed to overcome the goal and settle into the match when LCCC scored again in the last minute of the first half to lead 2 to 0 at the break.

In the second half the Mustangs had to press offensively to try to make up for the 2 goal deficit and left their keeper and defense exposed to the high powered LCCC attack.  LCCC scored three more times in the match in the 56th, 64th and 75th minute.  Both Kyle Mivhsek and Benji Ayala played a half of the match as keeper.  LCC was victorious on the day by the final score of 5 to 0.  The loss puts the Mustang record at 5 - 4 - 1 and 3 - 1 - 0 in Region IX North play, good enough for second place in the Region IX North.

Mustang Man of the Match:  Ty Nielsen - being the best WWCC player on the field today, holding down the midfield in tough conditions.
