After a sluggish start the Mustangs played some good soccer on Saturday in Sheridan. The slow start however had the Mustangs down 2 to 0 within the first thirty minutes. Western again changed their mindset and played better soccer and offensive soccer. Josh Abplanalp scored in the 1st half off of an assist from Carlos Gonzalez. The Mustangs even missed a penalty kick before half. The score after 45 minutes was Sheridan 2, WWCC 1.After the break Western continued to attack and put pressure on the Sheridan backline and keeper. The break through came again from Josh Abplanalp who evened the score at 2 goals a piece.
In overtime both teams looked directly to score in the first couple of minutes. Western found the game winning goal in the 93rd minute when down the right side Mike Wolken controlled the ball and made a run into the Sheridan box, he later received the ball and centered it to Grayson Barnes who calmly tapped in the match winner. The win brings WWCC record up to 2 - 1 - 1 on the season and 2 - 0 - 0 in Region IX North.
