NJC wins 1 - 0 vs Mustangs in Sterling CO

Western played their 5th match in 7 days on Tuesday when they faced off against the Plainsmen of Northeastern Junior College in Sterling CO.

This was a rematch of the first match of the 2016 season when these two teams tied in Rock Springs.  Also if things stay the way they currently are in the standings then these two teams would be set for a rematch in the quarter-finals of the Region IX tournament.

It was a very physical and fast paced match with two evenly match teams.  Northeastern scored the only goal of the match in the 14th minute off of a header from a corner kick.  No matter what the Mustangs did on the day seemed to worry the NJC defense or keeper.  The final score was 1 to 0 in favor of NJC.  The loss makes the WWCC record drop to 8 - 6 - 1 overall.

Mustang Man of the Match: Mike Wolken for solid defensive play and the ability to help the Mustang offense when needed.
