Western Wins in Scrimmage Date #3

On Saturday evening in Vineyard UT at the Utah Valley Intramural fields the Western Wyoming Spring Soccer team played a 90 minute scrimmage against the Utah Valley Men's Soccer Club Team.

The first 45 minutes of play had a couple of chances for the Wolverines of Utah Valley but most of the chances were had by the Mustangs.  Josh Abplanalp, Briston Lowell and Grayson Barnes all had some good looks but the halftime score was still a zero to zero scoreline.

After the intermission the WWCC offense continued to find ways to send through balls past, over and around the UVU Club defense.  Finally the break came that WWCC was looking occurred when a pass from Briston Lowell set Josh Abplanalp free and he finished past the Wolverine defense and keeper.  The slim 1 to 0 lead is all that the Mustangs would need to hold onto the victory as the defense and keeper Ben Kunz were up to the task.  The final score was WWCC 1 and UVU Club 0.

Up Next for the Mustangs is a Co-Ed Intersquad scrimmage on Tuesday April 25th at 5pm at Rock Springs Junior High.
