On Saturday in Rock Springs the visiting Western Nebraska Community College Cougars hit a great shot in the first half to score the games lone goal. On a rainy and cold day both teams played a great soccer game in what will be the Region IX's semifinal match in a couple of weeks again in Rock Springs. The Cougars and Mustangs were fairly evenly matched through out the game but the Cougars took advantage of their opportunities. The second half of the match saw WWCC play a lot better and with more offensive chances and the wind was behind their back for the second half. However the Mustangs could not find the touch to get the ball past the WNCC keeper and into the net. The Mustangs missed on a couple of great chances to get the tying goal late in the second half including a chip over the keeper that missed the goal and a slow rolling shot that hit the post and was cleared by the Cougar defense.
