WWCC Sneaks Past Cougars in Semi-Finals

On Friday in Rock Springs the WWCC Mustangs squared off against the WNCC Cougars in the semi-finals of the Region IX men's tournament. In a fantastic match the Mustangs scored the games lone goal in the 40th minute of the match when Chase Talbot found a streaking Devin King who beat the WNCC keeper for the goal. The match score was WWCC 1 - WNCC 0 at the half. The second half saw the Cougars take the offensive to try to get back even in the match. The Mustang defense and keeper were up to the task and kept WNCC off of the scoreboard for the entire 90 minutes. The final ten minutes were especially fast and furious and saw not only the Mustang keeper make some key saves but also a couple of saves from defenders off of the goal line. The win places the WWCC Mustangs into their first Region IX tournament final.
