WWCC Soars Past Huskies

On Tuesday at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs CO the Air Force Prep School Huskies faced off against the Mustangs of Western Wyoming on the soccer pitch. WWCC held the advantage of possession for the majority of the match but the Huskies found the net first in the 19th minute when they countered quickly on WWCC. The Mustangs equalized in the 40th minute when Omar Jaimes sent a great diagonal ball to a streaking Kyle Seljaas who beat the keeper. The scored stayed the same at 1 goal a piece at the half.
In the second half the Mustangs still saw much of the possession and were able to put more shots on frame to secure the game for them. Mika Goodman scored the next two goals for WWCC. The first Goodman goal came in the 59th minute when he collected a deflected ball about 20 yards from goal and beat the Prep keeper to the near post. Mika's second goal came from a good pass off of Erick Mata's foot. Mika side stepped the keeper about 20 yards from goal and dribbled in the ball for an easy goal in the 67th minute. Joe Lake added the fourth and final goal of the match when he gathered in a ball from Omar Jaimes and place the ball nicely to the right of the keeper in the 87th minute. The Prep school proved that they would not quit and scored their second goal in the 88th minute beating the Mustangs defense and keeper from the left side of the field. The game ended with WWCC having 4 goals and Air Force Prep 2 goals. The win improves the Mustang's record to 4 wins, 3 losses and 2 ties.
