High School Update 2014 #1

Here is the first update on our current recruiting class and commitments.

Idaho Players - Idaho boy's soccer teams play in the fall.
Jesse Cardenas and Carlos Gonzalez with their Gooding High teammates won the 3A Idaho State Championship.  This was their second consecutive State Championship.
Zac Roper and Adam Stocks along with the Preston High soccer team had one of their best seasons but falling short of their state championship goals.

Wyoming Players
Eric Ramirez and Alan Wendlandt helped the Rock Springs High Tigers qualify for the 2014 Wyoming State Tournament by winning their play-in match at the 4A West Regional Tournament.  Rock Springs finished the regular season in third place in their region.  Rock Springs won the third place trophy at the 4A West Regional Tournament.  All three players contributed to the Tigers success including scoring goals, assists and Ramirez even blocked a penalty kick as the RSHS keeper was yellow carded and could not be on the field for the play.  Rock Spring will host the 4A Wyoming State tournament starting on Thursday May 22.
Austin #0 earlier this season
Austin Pinter lost the play-in match with his Evanston Red Devils teammates to Kelly Walsh 1 - 2.  Austin was very instrumental in helping Evanston play so well down the stretch.  Pinter was a leader in the regular season for shutouts and saves, in the state of Wyoming.

Austin Moffitt helped the Green River High soccer team get an automatic bid to state with a top 2 conference finish in the regular season.  Austin was also instrumental in having a great regional tournament for GRHS and winning the 2014 4A West Wyoming regional tournament in Riverton.  GRHS will head to the 2014 WY state tournament as a #1 seed and play Cheyenne East High school in the opening round.

Utah Players
Gunner #11 and Levi #10 celebrating
Gunner Burrell and Levi Tams have starred as the Fremont Silver Wolves who have won their first two 5A playoff matches against Pleasant Grove and Taylorsville.  Fremont High will face Layton High in the 5A Utah Semi-finals on Tuesday May 20.  Levi Tams has scored a pair of goals this season and is a hard working player.  Gunner Burrell has scored 11 goals so far on the season including the OT game winning goal against Taylorsville High in the quarterfinals.
Landon Jacobsen a midfielder from Lehi Utah lead his Pioneers to a second place finish in their region.  Landon scored a pair of goals for LHS.  Sadly Lehi lost in the first round of the 5A playoffs 0 - 2 to Layton High.  An early exit for Lehi after Landon and the Pioneers who won the 2013 5A State Championship.
Spencer Seitz from Vernal Utah and Uintah High helped the Utes to a third place finish in Region 10 of Utah 3A soccer.  Spencer scored 5 goals for UHS and had many assists.  Spencer and the Utes won their first round playoff match on the road but fell in the second round to Pineview High 0 - 1.  Spencer was instrumental to the success of his team this season.
Devin Moore played for Roy High who earned third place in Region 5 in Utah 4A soccer.  Devin played a center defensive mid for the Royals and an outside back.  Their season was ended in the first round of the Utah 4A Tournament when they fell to Salem Hills High 1 - 2.  Devin was able to score 3 goals as he and RHS played tough in the 2014 season.
Carsen Tinker and the Braves from Bountiful High played to a second place finish in Region 6 in Utah 4A soccer.  Carsen scored 8 goals this season for BHS.  Tinker and the Braves were upset in the 4A first round of the playoffs by Murray High in Bountiful.  Carsen and the Braves were the 2013 4A State Champions.  Carsen had 13 goals in his varsity career with Bountiful.
