1st Recruit of 2017 - Colton Harrison from Davis High

Colton Harrison a current senior at Davis High School in Kaysville UT has signed a National Letter of Intent to play collegiate soccer at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs WY.

Colton signed his Letter of Intent in December of 2016.  Colton plays as a midfielder and is comfortable in the middle of the pitch and also as an outside midfielder.  Harrison came to the Western Wyoming campus in mid October for a campus visit and tryout.  He impressed many at the tryout and showed that he has what it takes to play at the next level.

Colton plays high school soccer for the Davis Darts.  He is a 3 year varsity letter man.  In the spring of 2016, Colton and the Davis Darts were the 5A Region 2 champions with a 12 - 3 - 1 overall recordbut sadly lost in the first round of the UHSAA soccer playoffs.  Colton and the DHS soccer team are expecting another great season in the spring of 2017.

Along with playing for the Darts, Harrison has also played 7 years for Forza Futbol Club in Utah Premier Club Soccer.  With Forza Colton has played in many tournaments.  These tournaments have taken place in Utah, California, Colorado, Arizona and Nevada.  He has played in the Surf Cup, SC Del Sol, Presidents Cup in Phoenix and other top tournaments.  Colton and his Forza FC teammates were Champions of the Dick's Sporting Goods Denver Cup in 2014 and 2016.  Colton was also the top scorer in the 2014 tournament.

Harrison's favorite soccer player is Cristiano Ronaldo and his most inspirational favorite quote is, "Every champion was once a contender who refused to give up".

We at Western are very excited to add Colton as the start of a great 2017 recruiting class.  Colton will definitely be needed as six of the eight midfielders from the 2016 team will not be returning to the 2017-2018 team.  We see Colton being able to fill the role as our attacking midfielder or as an outside mid.  He has the ball skills, speed and determination to be a great player for the Mustangs for the next couple of years.  Colton is an excellent person, student and player and is the type of athlete that we need more of at Western Wyoming Community College.
