Javier Arvayo Joins the 2017-2018 Mustangs

Javier Arvayo a senior at South Fremont High in St. Anthony Idaho has signed his National Letter of Intent to play college soccer at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs WY.

Javier is a big, strong forward that has a knack for scoring goals while involving others around him and being very creative.  Javier came to the WWCC campus for an open tryout late in 2016 and impressed the coaching staff with his foot skills and competitiveness.  As a senior with the South Fremont Cougars he helped lead the team to an outstanding 10 - 4 - 1 record.  Javier was named to all conference teams each of his 4 years in high school.

Arvayo finished his High School career with 33 goals and 8 assists.  His best position on the pitch would have to be a striker.  He is
versatile and could play an attacking midfielder or an outside midfielder with out any big changes to his game.  Believe it or not but Javier also has experience in playing as a keeper.

Arvayo has shared with us a lesson he learned while playing for both the South Fremont High team and the Teton FC club team, "That it is not always about you.  It's about the people you play with and the logo on that's on the front of your jersey".

Javier joins a returning WWCC attack which should includes three Region IX North all region players (Briston Lowell, Josh Abplanalp and Vic Gonzalez).  Even with the crowded front line Javier should be able to show his skills from the start of his freshman year.  We expect Javier Arvayo to come to Western in August and compete from the get go for a starting spot and playing time as he uses his talents to improve the Mustangs, who are coming off of a Region IX semi-final appearance.  Welcome to the Western Wyoming Soccer family - Javier Arvayo from St. Anthony Idaho.
