Mustangs Doing Well at Next Level

Jose Beto Rincon
Three members of the 2015 Western Wyoming Community College Men's Soccer team continued their education while playing soccer.

Jose "Beto" Rincon from Hyrum Utah played the fall 2016 season in Forest City Iowa for the Waldorf University Warriors.  Beto played in 15 games while starting 4 matches.  As an attacking player he scored 3 goals for the Warriors and took 25 shots.  Some leg injuries slowed him down from time to time but overall it was a great junior season for Beto.
Riley Gibson

Riley Gibson from Lehi Utah also played the fall 2016 season for the WU Warriors.  Riley played in 17 matches and started 16 of those matches.  He notched 5 goals and 2 assists while amassing 42 shots.  Gibson was also credited with 2 game winning goals.  Riley earned a 1st Team All Conference nod from the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA).

Mitch Jensen
Both Beto and Riley were an integral part in the Waldorf attack and led them to a 12-6-1 overall record.  A loss ended their season in the NSAA Tournament Championship.

Mitch Jensen from Kaysville UT played this fall for the Utah Valley University Wolverines.   Mitch played in 12 matches and started 10 of those matches.  Jensen had 25 saves and a 83.3% save percentage on the season.  He was credited with 8 wins and 1 loss on the year.  Mitch only allowed 5 goals on the year for a .48 goals allowed average per match.  Due to his stellar play Mitch was named the Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the week twice.  Jensen was also named to WAC All-Conference First Team, NSCAA All-West Region Second Team and Academic All-WAC First Team.  Mitch turned into a leader on the field for UVU as they climbed to a #21 NCAA ranking and hosted the WAC tournament.  The 2016 season for Jensen and UVU ended in a heartbreaking WAC tournament semifinal loss to UNLV.
