Daniel Pelayo Will Mind Mustang Nets in 2017

Liam Pope, the Blackfoot High Soccer coach, said "Pelayo’s most valuable asset is his ability to take charge of his defense.  For his position, you’ve got to be confident and vocal.  He was that vocal leader on the field. He’ll be confident. He’ll go and start organizing defenders. He’ll be loud, and that’s what you want from a goalkeeper at the next level.”

“I feel like I’m blessed to be able to do this sport at the next level,” Pelayo said. “I’m just excited to be able to play ball.”

Daniel will come onto a Western Wyoming team that needs some stability in the goalkeeping position.  He will have a chance to compete for a starting position from the start of training camp.  His height, quick reflexes and team organization will help his chances to lead the Mustang defense and back line.  Daniel's academic pursuits include Biology and Electrician.  We expect big things out of Daniel as a player and a leader for the team in 2017 and beyond.
