Jack Stout a soon to be graduate from Rock Springs High School in Rock Springs WY has decided to continue his soccer career along with his academic pursuits at Western Wyoming Community College.

Jack is a physically gifted young man who impressed the Western coaching staff while at a tryout in Rock Springs during the winter months.  Stout showed great composure on the ball regardless of the situation during the tryout.  He had good touch on the ball and was easily able to his teammates through his vision and his passing accuracy.

Jack and his RSHS teammates have had a great regular season earning a #1 seed in the Wyoming 4A West and an automatic birth in the Wyoming State Soccer Cup in 2 weeks.  Jack acts as a captain on the 2017 RSHS boy's soccer team.  He is playing as a center defensive midfielder.  Jack often draws the task of man marking the opponents' best player.  Even though he is given an defensive assignment he still has found some moments to go forwards and get into the attack.  So far in the 2017 season Jack has 2 goals and 2 assists.

In 2016 Jack was a member of the 4A West Wyoming All Region soccer team.  Along with being named All region last year he was also a member of the 2nd Team All State team for 4A players in the state of Wyoming.  We are expecting more individual awards for Stout at the end of the 2017 spring season.  The RSHS Tigers are currently ranked #1 in the Casper Star Tribune Power Rankings for Wyoming Boy's Soccer and #4 in the WyoPreps Coaches Poll.  We wish the Tigers good luck this weekend in Casper at regionals and again next weekend in Sheridan at the State tournament.

For the Mustangs Stout could play several positions for the 2017 WWCC team.  Jack has the smarts and the physicality to play as a center back.  He also has the speed and 1 on 1 defensive skills to be an outside back for the Mustangs.  Along with the aforementioned skills Stout also has the positioning, possession and passing ability to play as a midfielder especially a center defensive mid.

Jack is planning on earning his Associates Degree from Western Wyoming in Secondary Education.  He would like to teach Biology in the future.  Jack said, “It’s a great program and close to home.  I think next year WWCC will have a great team and it’s the best choice for me to be successful in the future.”
