NJC started quickly on the attack and put a goal past the WWCC defense and Joe Venhaus in the 6th minute of play. The Mustangs equalized in the 37th minute when Colton Mathys scored a header off of a Kayden Freeland free kick. The score line would not change the rest of the first half as the teams would remain tied at 1 to 1.
The second half was grueling on both teams as the weather was very hot and dry and WWCC was coming off of a road match the day before. Both teams had some chances but neither could score in the second half of the match. The score at the end of regulation was 1 to 1.
