Spring Scrimmage in Orem a Step backwards for WWCC

On Saturday on Orem the 2019 Spring WWCC team faced off in a scrimmage against the UVU Men's Club team.

This scrimmage was completely different to the last showing for the Mustangs.  WWCC did not look to control the possession and rushed passes forward.  This all resulted in too many chances for the home team and too many goals for the UVU club.  Western had a few bright spots in the scrimmage.

Christian Alatorre a spring add from Green River Wyoming played very well as a forward and as a midfield player.  Justin Pfeil continued to show his versatility playing on the backline and also in the midfield.  Nic Kautzman made several big saves to keep the scoreline closer.  Adrian Martinez a spring add from Rock Springs scored a goal for WWCC in the first half off of a Ryan Arevalo assist.  Kayden Freeland scored a very impressive free kick goal.  Kingdom Wanjoku showed leadership as a newly appointed spring captain.  Colton Mathys looked good as an outside midfielder getting involved in possession in the middle of the field while still stretching the field offensively.

Up next for the Mustangs is a scrimmage in Logan on Saturday April 27th versus the Utah State Men's Club team at 1pm.
