Mustangs Drop Another Physical Match to Weber

On Tuesday in Ogden Utah the WWCC Mustangs tried to get revenge on their first loss of the season by the hands of Weber State.  The last match-up was a very highly contested match that resulted in a Wildcat 1 - 0 victory.
The time around the WWCC Mustangs did a good job in the first half of keeping possession and getting chances on the Wildcat goal.  However the Wildcats squeezed a goal into the Mustang net in the first half in the 20th minute.  The match changed dramatically in the 40th minute when Christian Mendoza was red carded and left the Mustangs to play the last 50 minutes of the match down a man.  The half time score was 1 - 0 in favor of Weber State.
About ten minutes into the second half the Mustangs were penalized with a penalty kick which Weber State was able to convert for their second goal.  The effort of WWCC was valiant and commendable but with a two goal deficit and down a man it was too big of a hill to climb.  The work of WWCC even got more difficult when Steven Shelley was red carded in the 80th minute.  WWCC still had a few looks on the goal even down 2 men in the match during the last 10 minutes but the final score was Weber State 2 and WWCC 0.  The result of the match means that the WWCC record drops to 5 - 3 - 0.
