On Saturday the Men's Soccer team continued their spring 2016 scrimmage season against the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
The scrimmage was divided into two :60 minute scrimmages (30 minute halves). This was due to U of Utah using the scrimmage as an opportunity to evaluate their team and time constraints on the field.
The first scrimmage was used for the Mustangs primarily as a chance for the starters to show their stuff. The 1st scrimmage was well contested and ended in a draw 0 - 0. Austin Pinter was the goal keeper for Western and earned a shutout.
The second scrimmage finally showed some offense for both teams as both Western Wyoming and the Utah Utes scored two goals a piece. The goals for the Mustangs were scored by Landon Jacobsen and Riley Gibson. The assists were provided by Carsen Tinker and Nate Cutler.
Suiting up for the first time ever for the Mustangs were Jairo Razo and Ben Kunz. Getting their first action on the pitch in over a year were; Kyle Mivshek, Kasey Elizondo, Alejandro Bermudez, Piero Levano and Jared Jess.
