Josh Abplanalp joins the 2016 Mustang Soccer Team

Josh Abplanalp a 2014 graduate from Morgan High in Morgan Utah will join the Western Wyoming CC Men's Soccer team for the fall 2016 season.  Josh is an attacking player who had a great career at MHS and the Wasatch Soccer Club.  Josh has primarily played as a forward and an attacking mid.

As a member of the Trojans Josh was a member of the MHS varsity team all 4 years of high school.  Josh was a team captain for the Trojans both his Junior and Senior season.  Josh was the goal scoring leader of the Trojans three of his high school years.  His senior season (2014) he scored 10 goals, his junior season (2013) he netted 6 goals and Josh had 4 goals as an underclassman for MHS.  So for his high school career Josh scored 20 goals.  Along with being a prolific goal scorer Abplanalp also led the Trojans in assists one year.  Both as a junior and a senior Josh was named All Area Honorable Mention as a forward.

As a member of the Wasatch Soccer Club, Josh mainly played as a midfielder in an attacking central position.  Abplanalp and WSC were finalists in the 2013 Mayors Cup and also in the 2013 Mayors Cup.

Josh is currently serving an LDS mission in Lima Peru.  He is set to return to the USA in June.  Josh is excited to be a part of the Mustang soccer family and tradition and to play once again with his high school teammate Camen Gray.  We at Western are extremely enthusiastic to have Josh as a member of the team.  We believe that his size, speed and skill will translate very well into the collegiate game and as a WWCC Mustang.
