#15 Trinidad State Handles Mustangs in CO

On Saturday in Trinidad CO the Trojans of Trinidad State JC hosted the WWCC Mustangs in a rematch of last seasons 1st round of the Region IX tournament were TSJC defeated WWCC in a great battle 1 - 0.

TSJC wasted little time to gain a lead, scoring off of set pieces in the 9th minute and the 25th minute.  Western had a difficult time with the team speed of the Trojans, their size and physicality.  The halftime score was 2 to 0 in favor of the Trojans.

Western settled down in the second half and found more offense but the Mustangs defense along with keeper Benji Ayala had a hard time defending on set pieces against TSJC.  The third and final goal of the match was for the TSJC Trojans in the 75th minute.  The final score on the day was 3 to 0 in favor of TSJC.  The loss drops the Mustang's record for 2016 to 4 - 3 - 1.

Mustang Man of the Match:  Matthew Ochoa - for playing tough and being a consistent force on the backline.
