The first scrimmage match of the day was against the University of Utah men's club team. This was a 40 minute scrimmage or a half scrimmage. The Mustangs were seeking for some type of revenge from an earlier scrimmage loss to the Utes. The cold and rainy weather dampened the spirits of the young Mustangs and mistakes put the Mustangs in an early 2 to 0 hole. With limited time in the scrimmage the Mustangs were not able to fight back and dropped the opening scrimmage of the day by two goals to U of U club team.
Fifteen minutes after the first scrimmage of the day the WWCC spring team squared off against the Westminster Griffins, a NCAA D2 school. Again some mistakes from the Mustangs along some quick thinking by the Griffins put the Mustangs behind in the first 45 minutes of the scrimmage. Adjustments in personnel and tactics at the half helped the Mustangs find possession and slowed down the passing of Westminster. In the second half WWCC finally got on the board when a corner kick was put into the Westminster box and after a bit of a scrum Mike Wolken scored a goal. After 90 minutes the Westminster team was in the lead by a score of 3 to 1.
Kamden Carroll a new addition to the WWCC spring team saw his first again while wearing the red, black and white.
The next spring scrimmage for the Mustangs is Saturday April 22nd at 8:00pm in Orem UT versus the Utah Valley Club soccer team.
